Featuring fabrication, metal spray, line boring and field machining, Thompson provides convenient and economical options for a wide variety of machinery and component repairs.
Services Offered
WELDING
MIG AND STICK WELDING – easily handles projects from sheet metal to large fabrication and repair. When needed, our field crew is equipped to bring these services to your site.
TIG – available for projects involving aluminum, copper, titanium, or even two completely different metals. Our experienced crew will fabricate or repair a part just like you imagined.
SALVAGE
LARGE HYDRAULIC PRESSES – our 60 ton press enables Thompson’s technicians to easily straighten and form parts others may find difficult.
FLAME SPRAY COATING – provides an economical alternative to more labor-intensive repair process. Worn surfaces can be repaired by depositing a coating from 1/30th to 1/80,000th of an inch, depending on the process and feedstock.
CUTTING
FLAME CUTTING – an economical way to cut one or more parts from large plates with thickness up to 5 inches.
WATERJET CUTTING – utilizes three-dimensional cutting capabilities, designed for reliable, fast, and accurate performance with no heat or material distortion. Table accepts material up to 5’ x 10’ and 5” thick. Etching capabilities available on certain materials.
MACHINING
METALWORKING LATHES – ranging from smaller, everyday projects up to a 60” swing and a 164” long workpiece.
MILLING MACHINES – to surface engine blocks, cylinder heads, and manifolds.
LINE BORING MACHINES – Portable and in-shop line boring machines to restore worn or damaged parts to original dimensions ranging from 1” to 24” diameter.
OTHER SERVICES
HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS – repair, rebuild, fabricate, and hone a cylinder up to 21” diameter and 19’ long.
HYDRAULIC HOSES – Cat and many other hoses made at all Thompson stores.
PAINT BOOTHS – Large capacity booths in Memphis, TN and LaVergne, TN.
